Today was a really odd day, I had to find where my computer was moved to and still didn't get it, but I have a plan. Didn't get much doe either b/c all of my work was on another computer.

Vector: When you have a picture you want to zoom into than the pixel will remain clear and legible without having it all broke up into tiny colored squares.

Inside the War Against China's Blogs

I don’t agree with the Chinese companies act to hire people to write good things about their company. They’re hiring people who may not even like their product to go on the internet and say they do, and to go and write in a negative way about the other companies. 

The company’s honesty and integrity is affected on the way that they hire people to lie. All of the online comments may not even be true as to what is stated. Many innocent people reading the blogs may truly believe what is told. 

It’s not right to hire people to make their company look good in the consumer's point of view. Consumer’s may start to second guess their own opinion on the many products they like and enjoy just because of a couple of comments that aren’t completely true on the company’s blog.

What is it? 
It's what language looks like.


They're just words, right? 
No, it is the art and techniques of type design modifying type glyphs and arranging type using point faces, point sizes, line length, leading, and kerning.


Why do you think big companies pay artists for typographic work? 
They are hired so they can illustrate what they are trying to get through to people.


How might typography effect you or other potential consumers? 
It can affect the consumers in a positive or negative way.


Is graffiti, even if illegal, typography? What do you think about typography? 
Yes, graffiti is typography. People use different fonts and their imagination.

Reflection November 1, 2010

Today was really confusing, at first I didn't understand the directions or the questions that were instructed or asked but after some explanation I finally understood. I don't think I even answered the questions right :)

CMYK and RGB classwork

1. How do you think the Spectrometer works?

It breaks down the colors.

2. Were there any unexpected results? What were they?

The errors on the spectrometer.

3. Were there any differences between the different printers?

Yes each graph was different in some way.

4. Compare the printed color sheet to the one linked in the blog. What differences due you notice in the RGB display versus the CMYK printout.

The colors on the worksheet in the blog were more vivid and brighter.

5. Did you notice the Hex Codes for each color. Would you say Hex codes have more in common with RGB or CMYK? Explain.

On the chart from last week the colors are brighter and on the paper in much more dull.

6. Do you think the use of spectrometry is important for publishers? Why or why not?

Yes it is important or else all of the colors will be messed up and not look like the color you intended.

7. What sort of consequences may arise if spectrometers were not used in publishing?

The color would be mixed up and look ugly and gross.

Reflection October 26, 2010

The first assignment I had to do came out to be a waste of my time! The pictures I had to post wouldn't come out the way they were intended to come out. I wasted all of my time on that instead of doing my second assignment. In the end all I had to do was just forget it and move on. Ugh!

I figured out how to edit my pictures and brochure background! Thanks to Mr. W and Manuel! It was a slow start but today there were many laughs. Today was fun and productive.

This one caught my attention with it's bright colors, and how the writing is at an angle instead of straight like any other brochure.

Today we did a reflection for our first six weeks. It wasn't as log as I expected. Studied a bit, even though we didn't need it today because the software isn't working at the moment. At last worked on my brochure a bit and got some more cool pictures! And their citations.

These first six weeks, I've progressed plenty. I've learned a lot about the mac's, much of which I didn't know could be done! Some of those topics were creating my own avatar, having my own blog, using pages, etc. These skills will help me in the future when I may have to use a Mac and am only required to use this specific computer. Today I finished my project. In the beginning there were struggles with transferring documents. Towards the end it was a rush! Trying to get everything done and uploading it to my blog, but all in all it was a fun productive day.

Travel Plan

Today I think I worked efficiently. I completed my work with plenty of time left, watched each video. My biggest difficulty today was at the end when we had to do the three page documents. I didn't understand the directions all that well and had no idea what to do. Either way I didn't have time to do all three after i watched the videos.

Argentina

For my project I selected Argentina. The reason I chose it was because I thought it would be a really cool place to visit. Especially after my friend told me about it, the last time she went. The country has many tourists spots and lookouts.

So far I've learned Argentina's capital, their large cities, customs and cultural differences. It is also the second largest country in South America behind Brazil.

Meez vs. Voki

I like Meez better that Voki because Meez is in 3-D Voki isn't. Meez is more student interactive and creative. The avatar may move in similar ways that a human being may. The only thing I like about Voki is that it's avatars can talk.

Computer Hunt

The computer hunt was fun and challenging at the same time. We were able to learn how to use the computers. We also got to meet new people by helping each other. Over all the computer hunt was fun!
